Hera Marker
A Hera marker is a traditional Japanese tool used for marking quilting lines on cloth. It's an alternative to marker pencils or masking tape (which I also use as a guide at times). This marker has a wider edge to make lighter marks or a pointed edge to use almost as a pencil. Be careful not to lean too heavily as you do want the lines to disappear after quilting.
These little markers are designed and made locally by Dougie, a student at the Holywood Steiner School, using wood sustainably sourced from holly trees. They are beautifully smooth to the touch and rest snugly in your hand. A perfect item to add to your quilting basket.
